Little Seed Farm Earth Day reforestation
Little Seeds, Big Impact

You Made it Happen

All of us here at Little Seed Farm would like to thank YOU, our amazing community. With your support, we're planting over 16,720 trees in partnership with veritree, helping restore one of the world's most deforested landscapes and supporting the communities who depend on it most.

Every purchase you made contributed to something far bigger than a jar of deodorant. It contributed to a living, breathing forest, and to the livelihoods of the women and families growing it.

Your commitment to sustainability and caring for the Earth is truly inspiring. Together, we're making a difference!

Your Earth Day Impact

The Numbers Behind Your Trees

It can be hard to picture what 16,720 trees actually means. Here's what your support translated to on the ground:

249
Tennis courts full of treesYou're restoring over 17 acres of land (the equivalent of 249 tennis courts).
325
Workdays createdYou're creating over 325 workdays for local tree planters and farmers in Haiti.
53
Cars off the roadWhen mature, your trees will sequester approximately 269 tons of CO2, equal to removing 53 cars from the road for a year.

Where Your Trees Are Growing

The Haiti Agroforestry Project

Haiti has lost the vast majority of its forest cover over the past century, leaving communities vulnerable to soil erosion, food insecurity, and economic instability. Through women-led agroforestry, this program is changing that.

Agroforestry is a sustainable land management approach that combines the cultivation of trees or woody plants with agricultural crops or livestock on the same piece of land. This integrated system provides ecological and economic benefits, including healthier soil, biodiversity conservation, and increased land productivity.

  • 84% of program leaders are women
In Haiti, where nearly half of all households are women-led, this program puts women at the center of restoration. Participants gain training, income, and a seat at the decision-making table, building confidence and community leadership alongside the forests they're growing.
  • Supporting displaced families
As violence has forced more than 1.2 million Haitians from their homes, many have settled in the rural communities where this project operates. By welcoming displaced families into the program, the project extends both economic opportunity and a sense of stability to those who need it most.
  • Creating long-term economic opportunities
Through a honey-optimized agroforestry model, farmers plant native and fruit-bearing species including mango, cashew, guava, and cacao, providing food during the dry season and income year-round. Prosperity Catalyst's women-led cooperative Fanm Limye ("Women Illuminated") turns the honey harvested from these systems into candles sold in local and regional markets.

And while Earth Day is just one day on the calendar, our commitment to sustainability is a year-round promise. From solar-powered production on our farm to regenerative grazing and eco-friendly packaging, we're always looking for ways to protect the planet we all call home.

Why Rotational Grazing Matters (And What It Has to Do With Skincare)

Our farm is a place where we feel a deep responsibility to preserve the beauty around us and nurture the local ecosystem. One of the biggest ways we do that? Rotational grazing...
